  • New Microsoft Regional Director - Jim Duffy

During the Raleigh Code Camp you may have noticed the earth shook for a split second as Brian Hitney announced to the throngs gathered at the closing session for the Code Camp that our very own, and good friend of mine, Jim Duffy has been made a Microsoft Regional Director. Jim is now one of an elite 120 very special developers in the world, yes ...

  • Looking back to 1994!

I came across this interesting reflective post looking back at 1994, The Internet Year in Review - 1994, which was one of the most definitive years in my life. I found the Internet in 1992 at NC State, Go Wolfpack!, and just could not get away from it. In fact the first official date I had with my wife I spend an hour showing her how to find ...

  • Anonymous Caller Id

It amazes me that in today's high tech world that any legitimate company can not have their caller id display correctly. It amazes me even more that the number can not be displayed. Generally these tatics are used by tele-marketers, so I never answer the phone. Some even have left me messages, thanks to Vonage I have MP3 files of each one in ...

  • Google Helping out Hackers???

I saw last week that Google released their Code Search tool, which I thought was pretty interesting.  I tought it was having a hard time returning relavent coding samples for .NET, I honestly could not qualify results for other languages.  It really frustrated me getting other languages returned for search queries with VB.NET or C# ...

I had a great time at the Richmond Code Camp this past weekend.  Frank, Andy and the Virginia user group leaders did a pretty good job organizing the event.  I gave three presentations, ASP.NET performance, Data Controls and URL ReWriting.  The first two I have preseneted to TRINUG in the past year, so it was great to finally get to ...

I am always looking for good references on the net and one of the things I tend to have problems with is dealing for date formatting.  Katy Kam has a great entry on her blog which should serve as a great reference for Date formatting in .NET.
