Upcoming Speaking Events on HTML5 jQuery and Web Performance Optimization
It's hard to believe we are entering the last quarter of 2012 already and I have had a very busy year. I have been able to present in at least 7 states and a few online presentations. To finish the year I will visit at least 2 more states and the District of Columbia with 7 planned dates at this point.
DXetreme Development Tour
I am very honored to participate in the DevExpress DXETREME Development Tour. I will be joining various Microsoft Developer Evangelists and Dave Mendlen to talk about building Windows 8 Apps, HTML5 and how the great DevExpress tools can increase your developer productivity. My presentation will focus on using new HTML5 and AJAX functionality to build modern web applications. This is a 5 city tour starting October 17 in San Francisco. In November we will be in Chicago, New York, Washington DC and Los Angeles. Registration is already open for all events, so be sure to reserve your spot today.
Code Camps
At this point there are two Code Camps, Philadelphia and Central Maryland I will be presenting. At these events I will be sharing a relatively new talk called 'Making More Money By Making Your Web Applications Go Fast!". This talk will focus on web performance optimization. For those of you who know me this is an extremely important topic and every web developer, especially if you work for Facebook, should attend. Its been a while since I really did a solid web performance talk and the one I gave in Dallas this year was well received, but not that well produced on my part. In the past I have reviewed how to implement many of the 14 YSlow points, but in this talk I will extended this into more application architecture and leveraging HTML5 & CSS3 features to achieve those important performance boosts that can help put your application ahead of the competition, oh and make you look like champions to your stakeholders. At this point neither camp has made a formal announcement about registration, but if you are in either area please keep an eye on the local user group's web pages and of course attend their monthly meetings.
Philly Code Camp - 11/7
Central Maryland Code Camp - 12/8
I may have another date or two in the works, and when I have a confirmation I will be sure to post the information.
