New Microsoft Regional Director - Jim Duffy

During the Raleigh Code Camp you may have noticed the earth shook for a split second as Brian Hitney announced to the throngs gathered at the closing session for the Code Camp that our very own, and good friend of mine, Jim Duffy has been made a Microsoft Regional Director. Jim is now one of an elite 120 very special developers in the world, yes the world with this distinction.

Microsoft Regional Directors do not work for Microsoft, do not direct anyone and do not have a region, so the title is exactly what it says it is (huh). Really they have some very high level, behind the scenes views into what is going on and will be going on inside of Microsoft. They also have a very unique regard as to directing Microsoft on how new products and technologies will evolve. So now when your computer blue screens, call Jim!

I am very privileged to know Jim pretty well and do hold him in high regard as a friend and a developer. I feel fortunate enough to be friends with a fair number of US and Canadian regional directors and I know this is very good, smart company to be around. So if you know or see Jim give him a pat on the back and tell him what is broken so he can tell Microsoft to fix it.

And for the record, I have no clue why I did not publish this post before now!!!! Sorry Jim.
