Andy Leonard on DotNetRocks

First I never got a chance to thank Andy Leonard for coming to TRINUG last week and showing us how to Unit test our SQL Server databases. I know I have pondered this in the past but never really got the nerve up to actually do it. Andy went over the basic principles of how to build proper test for stored procedures and other objects in our databases. He then went on to demonstrate how to use the unit testing capabilities in Visual Studio Database Edition. It was one of the best demonstrations of technology I have seen at a user group meeting. It sort of help me mentally bridge the gap between formal unit testing and the way I have always 'tested' my code.

But as Andy was explaining the concepts to me last week I could not help but think to a side discussion I head Carl and Richard having with a guest on a previous version of DotNetRocks about the concept of unit testing the database to complete the full cycle in a continuous development environment.

I asked Andy if it would be ok to hook him up with the popular podcasting team and he was all for it. So I dropped the two DotNetRocks host a note recommending Andy and voila! Andy got scheduled to record Tuesday afternoon and will be available next week. I cannot wait to hear the broadcast.
